I am an IT Project Manager with over 10 years of experience in IT and 8 years of project management experience. I work in IT consulting business where I help customers all over the world reaching their business goals. I currently work for Sigma Software, a leading Swedish IT Service Provider. I live and work in Kharkiv, Ukraine. In my work, I am convinced that people, their relations, their teamwork abilities together with their synergy are something that drives businesses and crafts the perfection.
I’m João Beltrão and I’m an IT Project Manager. I work and live in Lisbon, Portugal, and I’ve also lived in Oporto and Marinha Grande, also in Portugal. I started my career in the middle of the dot-com boom back in 1997 to 2001, by creating my own dot-com company with some friends. We won the entrepreneur of the year award in 1999 and we got a sizable investment from the biggest company in Portugal at the time. That was one of the most rewarding and exhilarating times of my life, and it built a solid foundation of the project and team management for what was to come ahead in my work life.
I have been working in the Aerospace and Defense industry for about 8 years now as an Account Manager. Though my official title up till now was not Project Manager, the work I did definitely was. I have always believed in the Three P's when it comes to working: People, Process, and Product in that exact order and it has served me well. Working with cross-functional teams is something I enjoy and being able to work towards a common goal is always a great experience. I spent a good portion of my life traveling and have lived in Thailand and Japan prior to coming back to the states to start my professional career 10 years ago. The Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification has been the best investment so far in my professional career and I look forward to the new doors and challenges it will open up.

I am a Project Management Professional (PMP)®, PSM, ITIL and ISTQB certified. For the past 7 years, I am managing projects. I am in the software profession. To top on the benefits about certifications I mentioned above, I can debate endlessly how to use these certifications in your daily life. These exams have been put forward by highly individual people and they have thought what would make your life simpler as a manager, developer, tester, builder et all if you do "these certain things".
I am a Civil Engineer with a Masters' degree and three years of construction experience in Dubai. I started developing interest in Project Management while working and decided that this is the field I see myself at long-term. I recently moved from Dubai to Toronto and I was thinking that there would be nothing better than having a reputable international certificate such as the Project Management Professional (PMP)® to show to potential employers to highlight my skills and that's why I pursued the certificate.
