Student Profile: Dmitry Korotaev, PMP
My name is Dmitry, and I’m a project manager at a global financial company based in Singapore (although I’m originally from Russia). Being part of the client-facing division (Customer Implementation) and reporting to the head of CI and PMO I’m managing projects in the financial area (card processing solutions).
In my view, the contents of the official A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) is too strict and formal that makes it quite difficult to visualize and to digest properly. I’m a visual learner; I need to draw something to understand it properly and be able to explain it to others, that’s why the PMBOK® Guide should be supplemented with some easy-to-understand material ideally with examples such as the PM PrepCast video course. But you still need to read the guide at least twice to get used to the terminology and key concepts.
I’d suggest creating a GAP list for each knowledge area (questions answered incorrectly in the simulator) and focus on GAPs only without overwhelming yourself with the tons of information.
