Student Profile: Simon Evans, PMP
I am a biomedical research scientist and have been directing grant sponsored research studies for the past decade. I spent 5 years in the Seattle biotechnology industry between receiving my bachelors degree and returning to graduate school at Oregon State University. After completing my doctorate I moved to the University of Michigan where I have spent nearly 2 decades.
I pursued a PMP education and certification to formalize and improve the project management strategies I had been using in my research studies and to prepare myself for a move into full time administrative functions.
Reading the official PMP Handbook from PMI certainly helped me on the exam by focusing my attention on the overarching themes that are important to PMI and important for the PMP exam.
I spent the final week of the exam preparation reviewing materials in areas where I felt I still needed to improve proficiency. By the final week leading up to the exam you should not be exposing yourself to new materials, but solidifying the concepts you have already exposed yourself to.
