Hello, its my time to give back to the community. I passed the PMP today with Above target in all 5 sections and here is my study plan for aspirants.
Preparation time: roughly 1 month.
Schedule the exam roughly 45 days from Day 1 of Week 1.
Week-1: Go over the material: Cert Prep: Project Management Professional (PMP)® by Sandra Mitchell. This is available for linkedin Premium members. Take the Cost USD 35 per month.
Week-2: Memorize the 49 processes and the roughly 15 math formulae. Although it looks daunting, memorizing these is actually easier. Buy the pmi prepcast exam simulator. Cost USD 140
Week-3: Took about 5 exams in PMI. Scores of first 2 exams were 67% and 69% - failed. Scores for the next 3 were 80%, 72%, 78.5%. Basically the more tests you take, you become naturally acclimatized to encountering these situations. Review the answers to the incorrect ones to get better understanding. Make notes of topics you need more information on. For example, i needed to understand Resource levelling, smoothing, crashing schedule vs fast tracking, various charts, estimation methods and theories.
Week 4: Take about 1 or 2 full exams. Take 5-6 timed quizzes (mini exams).
Day before exam: Sleep well.
1 hr before exam: Relax - Know that you are going to pass.
Note: I did not buy/refer any other material including the PMBOK guide or Rita's book. I have been working as a manager in a leading consulting firm and was able to relate most concepts.
Let me know if anyone has any questions - happy to assist.

Hi there,
There are a total of 8 exams in the prep cast and I took about 5. I’d say take at least 5-6 exams during the week of your exam. Do not take practice exams on the day before you sit for the PMP. Take that day to relax and just fix gaps in knowledge. My exam was on Feb 29. I took practice tests between Feb 22-27. After every test I would go over the incorrect questions to understand what went wrong. And would note the terms that I need to understand better. That way I made a list of terms and topics that I needed to focus more. Between Feb 27 and 28, I studied those topics in the list. That’s all!
