I passed my PMP on Friday 28th October. I am a mommy of 2 kids (18 months & 5 year old) so my weekends were quiet tied up . I only managed to study after 7:30 pm on weekdays. Please find below my lessons learnt and advise to all those who are planning to prepare for PMP
1. One must understand the PMP concepts, the exam is based on your understanding of the various concepts e.g. analogous estimating vs Parametric Estimating.
2. Learning Input and Output doesn't help , understanding them does. You must know how the processes integrate to each other example how is scope related to Quality. The output from Quality is an input to a process in Scope. The best way is to highlight some of these processes when preparing for the exam.
3. The exam gives you 15 mins to read the rules of how to give exam and i only managed to write the formulas provided on the sheet. I think that was enough, the rest is concepts. If you know the concepts the chances are you will pass.
4. The questions were quite difficult , i had read PMBOK twice and Rita's guide thrice. Of course pmp exam simulator (PM PrepCast) helped a lot too. i spent 3 weeks just doing the practise questionnaire from the simulator and revising the chapters where i wasn't scoring much
I feel so good and relaxed now can focus more on my work and my kids

. Thanks to PM Exam Simulator & Rita's guide book.
