PM PrepCast really is the one stop shop for all your PMP Exam study needs!

Exam Prep
  1. Complete a PMI PMP Prep Course - This was essential to receive comprehensive overview of the ECO and provide the clear direction of study required to pass the exam. There are many Prep Course options out there of course, but I was more than pleased with this one, plus was able to get a jump start on earning PDUs directly after passing the exam.
  2. Follow the PM Study Coach guidebook start-to-finish - This created a robust, easy to follow structured study plan you could simply tick the boxes as you complete each task of reviewing the ECO while incorporating the PM PrepCast classroom simulator amongst tons of other hyperlinked resources contained within.
  3. Absolutely watch ALL the videos in the PrepCast library for the 10 knowledge areas plus the Agile concepts and frameworks. There's so many hidden gems in those videos.
  4. Timed Qiuzzes - Great way to get a feel of the pace of questions prior to entering the marathon of the exam-length simulators and refine your comprehension of processes within each knowlege area provided the situational presentation of the questions.
  5. Exam Simulator - Must have. Took all 4 simulator exams (66%-ran out of time :pinch:, 75%, 74%, 79%). Be sure to spend the additional time to review those explanations for the questions you missed.

  6. Now you're ready!
Exam Day (Proctored - Pearson Vue)
  1. You should have already downloaded the OnVue application and run systems test with the actual computer and location you will take the exam well in advance to avoid technical problems arising on exam day.
  2. Start check-in process 30 minutes before your scheduled exam time. You will need to run systems and capture photos of yourself, identification, and your work area. Use the remaining time to sit in the queue and RELAX - you got this!
  3. Recommended to take the 7-minute tutorial to get familiar with OnVue platform as there are some functional differences from the PM PrepCast simulator.
  4. The strikethrough feature during the exam was not valuable as it required 3-steps to use and therefore timely. This added some early stress as I utilized this one-click function during practice exams, therefore had to adjust quickly without this visualization.
  5. Move the annoying webcam view out of sight. You can drag and drop this window to the bottom corner of your screen - it took me about 10 questions to discover this!
  6. Pace yourself. If you don't know the answer, mark it and move on. Give yourself sufficient time to go back and review the marked questions. I spent about 10 minutes to review each section so 30 minutes total.
  7. Take advantage of the two 10-minute breaks to compose yourself and don't look back on the set of 60 questions you just locked in.

  8. Hope these lessons learned can help somebody out there and best of luck to all!
