I passed the PMP exam last week with Above Target in all 3 domains,
the only material I used is the Prepcast elite package
I spent 3 months watching all the videos on my phone and ipad whenever I've time.
I signed up for the exam on PMI website in early Nov,
then go straight to Exam 1 in the simulator, scoring just over 60%.
After reviewing all the questions that I got wrong, and those I guessed and got that right,
I leave the exam aside and go for short quiz,
keep doing 10 questions (unanswered and not from exam pool) each time,
and reviewing all of them no matter I got them right or wrong.
By the time I got an average of 8/10 in those quiz,
I go back to exam 1 and scored over 80%,
then I cleared Exam 2-4 averaging 75%( hile leaving exam 5 (ITTO)untouched)
Before the real exam,
I covered around 80% out of the 2100 questions in the simulator.
However, the heavy use of simulator did gave me a bad habit,
usually I finish the questions all in one go without reviewing before submitting
so I can go for the explanation asap
I never planned well on how to spend my time for the 3 checkpoints.
During the real exam,
I just rushed through the 60 / 120 checkpoints without reviewing any of my marked questions
but I didn't know that the they are
point-of-no-return
After the last checkpoint, I did reviewed Q121-Q180
but when I finished this checkpoint and want to go back to Q1-Q120,
the exam just ended with 66 minutes on the clock
Really, thanks to the simulator.
With sufficient practice on highly realistic questions
I can pass the exam even with such a big mistake.
So I really recommend anyone would like to take the PMP exam to use this tool,
it trained me up as a PM that the exam would like to see.
Thanks a lot!
