Book? No book!

Watch and listen to the prepcast. Use the exam simulator. Start with some quizzes first, and review and take notes on every wrong answer. When you start hitting 70% regularly, take a full blown simulator test. Again, review all wrong answers. Keep watching the prepcast.

Hi
I started with headfirst PMP, read it once only.
Then I read the PMBOK guide once along with Prepcast videos.
After that I just took mock exams and studied my notes.
Passed on the first try.
The most thing that helped me is that I linked all 49 processes together, And kept reviewing them until the day of exam
Good luck

I agree with this. I bought Kim Heldman's 9th Edition prep book but barely used it. The 1600 simulator questions are sufficient to reveal the weakness in my understanding with PM-Prepcast.

I prefer to quiz mode so that I can review the wrong answers.

PMBOK and Rita Mulcahy would suffice. Because that’s what worked for me.

When I studied for the PMP besides the PMBOK I studied using Rita's book, and that definitely helped me to pass the exam at the first attempt.
I also used another book called Head First PMP. I hope it helps.

Good luck.

I found Rita Mulcahy’s PMP Book to be an excellent compliment to the PMBOK. It’s an easy read and understanding. It provides a firm grasp of PMI’s approach to PMP and provides familiarity with the style of wording of questions on the PMP Exam. Truly an excellent resource/tool that helped me to pass the test.
I would also recommend purchasing simulated test and take as many tests as possible. This is truly another tool to prepare you for the test as a lot of the questions are similar to the way they are worded on test. I’d have to say Simulated tests are a Must.
Good Luck!
Sylvia

Definitely it should be Rita Mulcahys PMP prep book - it's very much situational with great quizzes/tests, also download number of applications like PMP Exam Mentor, Quizlet and PMP Pocket prep and do as many mocks as possible.

Good luck

Rita's was very helpful. I also did a project management academy bootcamp right before taking the exam. The PM Prepcast simulator was helpful as well

Rita, PMBOK 6edition, but above all buy PM Prepcast Audio/Video and PM Prepcast Exam simulator, and practice the exam after you 8 weeks or reading and listening to the materials.

Looks like most of the users are suggesting Rita and PMBOK. Will it not be too much of content studying both the books?

I'm going through PM Predcast plus exam simulator, just thinking studying above too books along with Predcast going to take a lot of time?

Ramesh, studying for the PMP exam is time-consuming. It is important to give yourself enough time to study all the materials and take practice exams. Depending on how much time you can devote to daily studying, expect to spend at least 6 weeks preparing for the exam, and most likely more than that. I studied for 3 months (using Rita's book and the PMBOK along with the exam simulator) prior to sitting for my exam. It was definitely worth my time to read both books.
