Table 4-1 pg 78 in the PMBOK Guide 5 has a list of management plans and project documents. The management plans are required to go through change control process to make changes. Is it correct that the project documents do not need to go through a change control process for the project documents and simply just make update/changes as needed? Some documents are obviously not require to go through a change control process such as the work performance data, change log/issue log, but other documents such as stakeholder register, risk register, requirement documentation etc, need to go through a change control process?

The PM is the author of the Project Management plan. Updates can be delegated at the PM's discretion. Outputs from the Change Control process are inputs to updating documents.

Not all document changes need to go to the change control board, but document updates should be tracked by revision history / levels.

That is my 2 cents.
