TOPIC: My eligibiligy for exam is expiring soon - what if.....

Hi,
My eligibiligy for exam is expiring soon in last week of Jan. 2018. I did not even try exam once in 2017 due to job and time challenges. Looking for information that if I have to file application again, or will PMI simply get extra fee with old appliaction and extend time period to appear in exam.
If I tried once without full prep in Jan., and fail, will that impact reapply in Feb. etc.
My application was approved without audit this time.
Any other related information would be appreciated.
