Student Profile: Nimesh Karia, PMP
I am Nimesh Karia and I am graduate in Production engineering with 14+ years of industrial experience in various domains. Currently associated with Larsen &Toubro Technology Services and we are into business of providing engineering service to various clients across the globe.
Project Management has been part of my life for quite some time now & PMP certification was always on radar for the reason that it not only clearly differentiates you from the crowd but also it changes the way you start managing project.
What was the most difficult part of my PMP studies? Striking balance between work & family life, the target date to get certified before 31st July and self-expectation to achieve better score was like trying to put all possible constraints in one project, which made focusing on PMP studies challenging and interesting.
The PM Prepcast was suggested by very good mentor of mine while I was searching for appropriate PMP study source which would provide me flexibility and at the same time be comprehensive enough to cover all the topics.
All the concepts From Pg1 to the appendix of the PMBOK are very well covered in PM Prepcast. Honestly, I think this is perfect material which has made PMBOK easier to understand and get yourself prepared for certification.
The other big advantage is we can go over Podcast as and when needed & also it becomes part of your knowledge repository for lifetime. Thanks to Cornelius Fichtner and team for developing such a valuable asset.
My strategy in studying for the PMP Exam was to first go over PM Prepcast & then thoroughly read the PMBOK; this helped me a lot in correlating the concepts and identifying focus area. My recommendation to all PMP aspirants is once you are done with PM Prepcast & PMBOK then take as many sample tests as possible.
