Student Profile: Mike Adurogbangba MBBS, PMP

I am a general physician with over 20 years of clinical and progressive healthcare administration/ management experience. My role as an administrator and manager demanded extra skills in relationship building, negotiation and robust expertise in communication to sustain engagement with my stakeholders. It was while seeking the best way to meet up with this demand that I first heard of Project Management.

As I studied project management materials and applied the concepts to my activities, friends and team members began to notice marked finesse in my style. Their positive comments and encouragement motivated me to seek to gravitate to becoming a professional. Having gone through the training on Project Management and earned my certificate, I’m now able to successfully serve as a program manager and do my work better.

I initially found Quality management a bit of a challenge. Differentiating between Quality assurance and Quality control was confusing to me initially but through PrepCast, and my PMI local chapter- sponsored mentoring program, I was able to master the difference.

My daughter who holds a masters degree in International Business introduced and encouraged me to the PM PrepCast.

My suggestions for improvement for the PM PrepCast - a more in-depth treatment of management theories could be better.

My #1 recommendation for those studying for the exam - combine PM PrepCast and 3-months subscription of Simulation tests with PMBOK.
